Holidays Are Tricky Kelly Gaw November 1, 2014 View From here As we end October with Halloween and start thinking about Thanksgiving and Christmas, I realize something: Holidays are tricky! We have always seen all the grandparents on major holidays. There is a combined Thanksgiving lunch and we spend Christmas Eve with my mom and Christmas Day with Sam’s family. It has been this way for nearly 20 years! But now what? We can’t make that drive in November and turn around and do it again in December. I knew this day would come but I never gave it much thought! I really am wishing that I would have! Now, don’t get me wrong! I don’t, for a second, regret moving to Orlando! But holidays are family days and that is really important to me. I guess that would be something I would tell anyone who was thinking about making a big move…holidays are gonna happen so think about what you are going to do! Luckily for me this year my mom is willing to fly to Orlando to spend Thanksgiving with us and we will go home for Christmas. But it will be a different kind of year this year!
